25T Excavator Operator – Quick Release / Steep Slope Experience
Townsville | Long Reach & Rubber Duck | Experienced Operators Only Achieve Group is seeking an experienced
25T Excavator Operator for civil and infrastructure works in Townsville.
This is a specialist operating role where
extensive experience with hydraulic quick-release hitch systems and operating excavators safely on steep slopes is essential.
We require an operator who is confident changing between multiple attachments throughout the shift and has demonstrated experience maintaining machine stability, positioning and control while working on
steep, uneven and challenging terrain.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate 25T long reach and rubber duck/wheeled excavators
- Regularly use hydraulic quick-release / quick-hitch systems
- Safely connect, disconnect and change attachments throughout the working day
- Complete positive attachment/locking checks before operating
- Operate rock breakers/hammers, tilt rotators, rippers, GP buckets, mud buckets and trenching buckets
- Select the appropriate attachment for changing ground conditions and work activities
- Undertake excavation and rock breaking on steep slopes, batters and uneven terrain
- Safely position and operate the machine while maintaining stability on challenging ground
- Batter trimming, benching and detailed slope work
- Trenching, drainage and working around existing services
- Bulk earthworks, loading, backfilling and material handling
- Conduct daily pre-starts, including inspection of quick-hitch locking mechanisms, attachment pins, hydraulic connections and hoses
- Comply with site WHS, environmental and client requirements
Essential Experience To be considered, you must have
demonstrated hands-on experience in:
- Hydraulic quick-release / quick-hitch excavator systems
- Frequent and safe attachment changeovers
- Operating multiple hydraulic attachments
- Steep slope and batter excavation
- Safely operating excavators on steep, uneven and difficult terrain
- 20–30T excavators
- Long reach excavators
- Rubber duck / wheeled excavators
- Hydraulic rock breakers
- Tilt rotators
- Civil construction, earthworks and drainage
You will also require a
White Card, current driver's licence and excavator competency/VOC or demonstrated equivalent competency.
The Operator We're Looking For
This is not a standard excavator operator position. The successful operator must be able to confidently assess the work area, position the machine safely on challenging terrain, select the correct attachment and undertake
multiple quick-release attachment changes without requiring instruction or supervision.
You must understand the importance of confirming the quick-hitch has
positively locked and secured the attachment before use and be comfortable carrying out these procedures repeatedly as the work changes.
Previous experience operating on
steep slopes and batters is critical. Applicants whose experience is predominantly flat-ground bulk excavation or who have limited quick-hitch/attachment-change experience will not be suitable for this particular role.
Highly regarded: final trim, GPS machine control, TMR/roadworks experience, HR licence, First Aid, Traffic Management, Confined Space and Working at Heights.
