Trade Assistant/Irrigation Maintenance Worker - Townsville Achieve Group is looking for a skilled and motivated Irrigation Maintenance Worker to join a dedicated team supporting the maintenance of irrigation systems across the Townsville region. This is a fantastic short-term opportunity for someone who enjoys working outdoors, solving technical problems, and making a visible impact in the community's parks and open spaces.
Location: Townsville, QLD
Employment Type: Full-Time, Contract (2 months)
Classification: LGE 3–4 (based on qualifications and experience)
Roster: Monday - Friday, 9 days a fortnight.
What You’ll Be Doing:- Conduct daily maintenance and repairs on irrigation infrastructure.
- Identify and resolve irrigation and basic plumbing issues.
- Carry out fault-finding, audits, leak repairs, and component replacements.
- Perform preventative maintenance and system upgrades as required.
- Install or maintain irrigation systems in garden beds and lawns.
- Support the team and follow directions from the Team Leader.
What You’ll Bring (LGE 3 Requirements):- Construction White Card.
- Able to pass pre medical, physical and D & A testing.
- Experience identifying and repairing solenoid valves and leaks in non-potable systems.
- Ability to program standalone irrigation controllers.
- Knowledge of system shutdown, commissioning, and plumbing components.
- Understanding of irrigation operations in parks and open spaces.
- Current Queensland 'C' class manual driver’s license (mandatory).
- Familiarity with IRRInet irrigation controller systems (desirable).
Additional Requirements for LGE 4 Level:- Certificate III in Irrigation.
