We're on the hunt for a skilled Storeman/Dispatch to join our clients team in Cairns. As the face of our store, you'll be responsible for the day-to-day operations, ensuring seamless logistics and exceptional customer service. Essential Requirements:
- Minimum of 2 years' experience in a similar field
- Forklift operator's license and driver's license
- Basic hydraulic knowledge (preferred)
Nice to Have Skills:
- Experience with inventory management and stock control
- Knowledge of logistics and dispatch procedures
- Excellent communication and customer service skills
Preferred Education and Experience:
- Trade or technical qualification (not mandatory)
Additional Requirements:
- Ability to work overtime, including Saturdays
- Willingness to undergo ongoing training and development
You'll be responsible for:
- Receiving and processing incoming freight
- Dispatching outgoing freight
- Maintaining accurate records of all incoming and outgoing freight
- Providing quotes for freight services
- Matching paperwork to purchase orders
- Restocking shelves and replenishing parts
- Operating a forklift
- Requisitioning parts for customers and stock
- Cleaning the dispatch area and back shed
- Serving customers on the front counter
