Experienced Civil Pipelayers – Stormwater | Townsville We are currently seeking
experienced Civil Pipelayers with strong stormwater and drainage experience for an
ongoing civil construction projects in Townsville.
This role is suited to experienced pipelayers who are confident working as part of a civil drainage crew and have hands-on experience installing
stormwater pipework, pits and associated drainage infrastructure.
Immediate starts are available for suitable candidates. About the Role Your duties will include:
- Installation of stormwater and civil drainage systems
- Laying RCP, PVC and other stormwater pipework
- Preparing trenches, bedding and pipe foundations
- Setting and maintaining correct levels, grades and falls
- Installation and connection of stormwater pits, headwalls and drainage structures
- Working from plans, levels and site set-outs
- Checking pipe alignment and ensuring correct installation
- Backfilling and compaction around completed pipework
- Working closely with excavator operators and other mobile plant
- Spotting and assisting with safe placement of pipes and structures
- General civil labouring associated with drainage works
- Maintaining a strong focus on safety and quality throughout all works
What We're Looking For We are specifically looking for candidates with
proven pipelaying experience, ideally within stormwater, subdivision, roadworks or major civil construction.
You will need:
- Previous stormwater pipelaying experience – essential
- Demonstrated experience installing civil drainage and pipework
- Good understanding of levels, grades, falls and pipe alignment
- Experience working in and around trenches and excavations
- Ability to work confidently alongside excavators and other civil plant
- Ability to read and interpret basic civil/drainage plans
- Current Construction Industry White Card
- Current Driver's Licence and reliable transport
- Strong safety awareness and ability to work effectively within a civil crew
- Physically fit and comfortable working outdoors for 10+ hour shifts, Monday to Friday
Additional civil tickets and competencies will be highly regarded.
