Site Supervisor - Thalanga Mine 5/2 roster
50 hours/week
12 months contract
This role involves managing and delivering critical projects at abandoned mine sites across a state-wide portfolio. Responsibilities include project planning, procurement, monitoring and reporting, stakeholder engagement, and site inspections throughout the full project lifecycle. To be successful in this role, you will bring strong experience in project supervision, particularly within mine remediation and water management projects. You will have excellent communication skills across all levels, be proactive and solutions-focused, and able to work independently while ensuring projects are delivered safely and efficiently.
Key Responsibilities- Supervise day-to-day site activities and care & maintenance operations
- Oversee two crews of operators (2 operators per crew) and a site cleaner
- Supervise contractors attending site to complete work, including drilling, electrical, and earthworks contractors
- Conduct site inductions, risk assessments, inspections, and safety audits
- Identify, mitigate, and escalate safety risks and operational concerns
- Support initiatives that improve efficiency, water management, and site safety
- Work closely with the Project Specialist, who is currently assisting with supervision coverage
Requirements - Current C Class Driver’s Licence
- Demonstrated experience within the mining or construction industry is essential.
- A trade qualification or tertiary degree in a relevant technical field such as:
- Engineering
- Environmental science
- Maintenance
- Or a related discipline will be highly regarded.
- Project management and risk management experience or qualifications would be considered an advantage.
- This role is site-based and may require travel outside of standard business hours, including occasional overnight stays for extended periods depending on operational requirements.
- Flexible work location arrangements may be considered to support an adaptive and agile workforce where operationally suitable.
Location- Candidates located within reasonable travel distance of the site, including Homestead, Charters Towers, or Townsville, will be highly regarded
