Pit Builder / Formworker - RipleyThe Pit Builder is responsible for the construction, installation, and finishing of service pits, drainage pits, cable pits, and related civil infrastructure. The role involves working from plans, preparing sites, installing formwork, reinforcing, concreting, and ensuring all work meets safety and quality standards.
Key Responsibilities- Construct service pits, drainage pits, and underground infrastructure
- Read and interpret construction drawings and site plans
- Excavate and prepare ground for pit installation
- Install formwork, reinforcement, and concrete structures
- Set and level pit lids and frames
- Backfill and compact surrounding areas
- Operate hand and power tools safely
- Work alongside civil crews and machinery operators
- Maintain a clean and safe worksite
- Follow all WHS and company safety procedures
Skills & Experience- Experience in civil construction or concreting
- Ability to read and interpret plans
- Experience with formwork and reinforcement installation
- Strong understanding of safety procedures
- Physically fit and capable of manual labour
- White Card (Construction Induction)
- Driver’s Licence (preferred)
- Machine tickets (advantage but not essential)

Reporting To Site Supervisor / Project Manager
Work Environment- Outdoor civil construction sites
- Manual handling required
- Early starts and possible overtime
