Opportunity for overtime on Saturdays Are you looking for a long-term opportunity in a fast-paced, safety-focused manufacturing environment? We’re seeking reliable and motivated team members to join our client’s steel production facility in Townsville.
About the Roles Depending on your experience and interests, opportunities are available across several key areas:
Purlin Mill Operator AM & PM- Assist with setting up, adjusting, and operating machinery to produce steel beams and roofing products.
- Read and interpret detailed orders and production drawings.
- Monitor product quality and support other departments as required.
Flashings Operator- Operate an SWI Folder to manufacture steel flashings to specified dimensions.
- Read and interpret job sheets and technical drawings.
- Perform basic maintenance, cleaning, and quality checks to ensure compliance with standards.
Loader- Load and unload materials into and from trucks and containers.
- Prepare and complete loading documentation.
- Follow all safety and housekeeping procedures to maintain a safe worksite.
Shed Consolidation Member- Consolidate, bundle, and shrink-wrap steel components (gutter, sheeting, purlins) for dispatch.
- Operate a forklift and perform manual handling tasks efficiently and safely.
- Work collaboratively with the team to meet deadlines.
About You- Experience in a manufacturing or similar industrial environment
- Forklift Licence and experience (essential for Loader and Consolidation roles)
- Strong mechanical aptitude and attention to detail
- Physically fit and capable of manual handling
- Commitment to safety, teamwork, and quality standards
- Positive attitude with a willingness to learn and grow within the business
Additional Requirements- Must pass a Drug & Alcohol test and interview prior to commencement
