Achieve Group is currently recruiting an experienced HR Consultant (AO4) on behalf of our client, a Queensland Government organisation managing the sustainable sale of forestry products including native hardwood timber, cypress, and quarry materials.
Based in Brisbane, this role is part of the Human Resources team within the Forestry Business Services (FBS) group, supporting teams across Brisbane, Dalby, Nambour, and Rockhampton. You’ll be a key player in delivering high-quality HR support to field staff and management across multiple regions. Key Responsibilities
  • Provide timely and accurate advice on workforce management, aligned with relevant legislation and departmental policies
  • Manage end-to-end recruitment, onboarding, and offboarding processes
  • Support the creation and review of role descriptions
  • Maintain HR records and systems to ensure compliance and data accuracy
  • Advise staff on HR policies, entitlements, and procedures
  • Build and maintain strong working relationships across teams and regions
  • Contribute to HR projects and system improvements
About You
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
  • Proven experience in an HR or related administrative role (public sector experience highly regarded)
  • Strong knowledge or the ability to quickly acquire understanding of HR policies and practices
  • Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills
  • High attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities
  • Initiative and the confidence to work both autonomously and collaboratively
