Gardener / Labourer Townsville
Immediate start – until end of March (potential extension) We are currently seeking an experienced
Gardener to join our client's team in Townsville. This role is responsible for maintaining the company's grounds, gardens and associated infrastructure in line with agreed standards and procedures.
Key Responsibilities:- Weeding, mulching, fertilising and planting as required
- Pruning and hedging shrubs and trees at appropriate times
- Watering lawns and garden areas
- Blower vacuuming paths and entrances
- Applying pesticides, herbicides and fertilisers safely and correctly
- Litter and graffiti control
- Creating new garden beds and planting areas
- Maintaining a small holding nursery
- Providing plant replacement recommendations and enhancement ideas
- Operating tractors and small plant equipment
- Mowing and turf renovation
- Calibrating and operating spraying and fertilising equipment
- Supervising a small team of casual gardeners when required
- Promoting Zero Harm and complying with all WHS and environmental legislation
Requirements:- Current Queensland C Class Driver Licence
- Construction White Card
- Ability to successfully pass Functional text, Medical (including drug & alcohol) and a Police check
- Experience operating gardening machinery and spraying equipment
- Strong understanding of WHS practices
