Fencer, Carpenter & Steel Fixer – Cairns - DIDO We are currently seeking an experienced Fencer, Carpenter or Steel Fixer to join our client crew in Ellis Beach, Cairns. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in subdivision work, installing a variety of fence types and a strong work ethic. You’ll work on projects involving new fence installations, repairs, and maintenance.
Key Responsibilities:- Measure and mark fence layout lines accurately on site
- Dig post holes and set posts using concrete or other methods
- Install various types of fencing (wood, vinyl, chain link, metal, etc.)
- Repair or replace damaged fencing
- Operate hand and power tools safely and effectively
- Read and interpret site plans or customer instructions
- Work outdoors in varying weather conditions
- Maintain a clean and safe job site
- Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors
Requirements:- Previous fencing or construction experience required
- Ability to lift 25kgs and perform physically demanding work
- Proficiency with fencing tools and equipment
- Reliable transportation to job sites
- Strong attention to detail and problem-solving skills
- Valid driver’s license (preferred)
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Punctual, reliable, and professional attitude
Preferred Qualifications:- Experience with both residential and commercial fencing projects
- Familiarity with local zoning and property line regulations
- Basic knowledge of landscaping and outdoor construction is a plus
- OSHA or safety training certifications
