Electrical Mechanics – Townsville

We are seeking qualified and motivated Electrical Mechanics to join our team in Townsville. This is an excellent opportunity to apply your technical skills in a fast-paced environment, with room for growth and development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform installation, maintenance, and repair of electrical systems, including street lighting, traffic signals, and basic intelligent transport systems.
  • Conduct routine inspections and troubleshoot electrical issues to ensure safety and operational efficiency.
  • Comply with relevant legislation, policies, and safety standards while executing field tasks.
  • Participate in project-related activities, including site assessments and systems upgrades.
  • Travel across operational units and potentially throughout Queensland to support various projects as needed.
Essential Requirements:

  • Valid Electrical Work Licence issued in Australia.
  • Current First Aid certification including CPR, along with Perform Rescue from a Live LV Panel certification.
  • Possession of a White Card for construction work.
  • Hold a valid Australian Open Class C Driver’s License.
  • Willingness to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol testing.
  • Ability to participate in skills assessments during the recruitment process.
  • Flexibility to travel regionally and stay away from home when required.
Preferred Qualifications and Conditions:

  • Queensland MR Class Driver’s Licence (or equivalent).
  • ACMA Registered Open Cabler with endorsements in Structured Cabling, Optical Fibre, and Coaxial.
  • EWP (Elevating Work Platform) competency for heights over 11 meters.
  • Certification in Working in Proximity to Traffic (Parts 1 and 2).
  • Relevant industry experience, particularly in electrical installation and maintenance.
