Our client's expertise lies in quarry production in remote areas. As a Main Roads certified Quarry, they provide a comprehensive range of materials vital for civil project constructions in the North Queensland region. They require an experienced Diesel Fitter that would like to be paid mine rates but be at home every night.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Maintenance Planning: Develop and implement a comprehensive maintenance plan for the organisation to ensure the long-term functionality and safety of all machinery and equipment.
2. Scheduling: Regularly schedule maintenance for all machinery on-site. This includes trucks, dump trucks, graders, bobcats, mobile crushing plants, fixed crushing plants, conveyors, and general company vehicles.
3. Pre-Start Checks: Conduct daily pre-start checks on all operational machinery, ensuring they are in proper working order before any operation commences.
4. Issue Identification: Actively identify and diagnose issues or potential problems with machinery and equipment, recommending solutions or preventive actions where necessary.
5. Safety Assurance: Ensure that all machinery and equipment operate in a manner that prioritises the safety of all personnel. This includes regular inspections, safety tests, and adherence to all safety regulations and guidelines.
6. General Duties: Perform all other duties and tasks typically associated with the role of a diesel fitter, including but not limited to repairs, part replacements, and providing technical advice.
Qualifications and Skills Required:
- Certified Diesel Mechanic or relevant qualification.
- Proven experience with heavy machinery, particularly those used in quarry operations.
- Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.
- Commitment to safety protocols and regulations.
- Ability to work independently and in a team environment.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to prioritise tasks.
