Position Overview

This position is responsible for processing customer orders and provide additional product and purchase advice to customers. This role requires a thorough knowledge of the organisation's products in order to perform organisational and position specific objectives. Additionally, this role will support management in completing work related tasks to achieve departmental objectives.

Main duties and responsibilities
  • Respond to customer requirements in a timely manner suitable to the customer 
  • Following processes set by the company. 
  • In carrying out all duties the major focus must be on providing premium customer service.
  • Ensure paperwork and product are completed and done in accordance with company’s Guidelines/Directions.
  • Source and purchase hard to find, non-stock items in an urgent manner as requested for customers
  • Maintain stock & displays in counter sales area.
  • Always maintain a neat and clean appearance to reflect the professional presentation of the company network
  • Provide a retail outlet environment to promote company products and services. 
  • Develop and support customer relationships through quality work.
  • Ensure all activities comply with relevant acts and regulations and with professional and ethical standards. 
  • Demonstrates teamwork and team building skills to produce results and meet organisational objectives 
  • Serves as a role model by promoting new ideas and positive change 
  • Implement all applicable Quality Assurance procedures and participate in relevant quality related functions. 
  • Ensure all expenses are kept to a minimum and ways of reducing costs are examined. 
  • Maintain currency with product knowledge on existing and new products and services to ensure a detailed knowledge of the organisation’s product range.
  • Follow up customers on quotes in timely manner as per company Guidelines.
  • Maintain the service centre in a neat and clean manner.
  • If required attend to Hose Doctor breakdowns when required and rostered on call schedule (minimum 1-in-3 on call)
  • Maintain workshop tooling and equipment in accordance with company policies and procedures.

Qualifications   
  • Business related trade discipline desirable
  • Cert IV in retail sales
Experience
  • Previous Technical and sales experience in a Mechanical environment 
  • Broad exposure to hose assembly in both the Industrial & Hydraulic hose markets
