CNC Machinist - Brisbane - Immediate start
We are seeking a skilled CNC Machinist to support day-to-day machining operations within a busy workshop environment. This role involves setting up, operating, and maintaining CNC and manual machines to produce components accurately and safely to specification.
Key Responsibilities
- Operate CNC and manual machines (lathes, mills, drills) in line with job requirements
- Read and interpret technical drawings and job sheets
- Select appropriate materials, tooling, speeds, and feeds for each task
- Carry out in-process and final inspections to ensure quality standards are met
- Identify faults in materials or workmanship and report non-conformances
- Complete job documentation and inspection records accurately
- Maintain high standards of housekeeping and equipment care
Safety & Quality
- Work in compliance with WHS policies, procedures, and safe work practices
- Use PPE correctly and report hazards, incidents, near misses, or damaged equipment
- Participate in risk assessments, safety meetings, and workplace inspections
- Ensure a safe working environment for yourself, team members, and visitors
Skills & Experience
- Trade qualification (Cert III – Fitter & Machinist / Mechanical Engineering)
- Experience operating CNC and manual machining equipment
- Strong understanding of precision measuring instruments
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
- Knowledge of relevant industry standards and safety codes
- Forklift licence highly regarded
Reporting
- Reports to the Machine Shop Supervisor or Leading Hand
