Achieve are recruiting for Civil Construction Workers, Roller Operators & Experienced Pipe Layers (Subdivision Work) - Caboolture & CaloundraAchieve Group are seeking experienced sub-division workers for an immediate start on a long term project in Upper Caboolture & Caloundra on behalf of their client.
Job Type: Casual with fulltime offered to serious applicants
Pay Rate: $38.36 (depending on experience & tickets) + penalties
We are seeking skilled:
- Roller Operators
- Experienced Pipe Layers,
- Concreters/Formsetters; and other typical workers for subdivision projects.
The ideal candidates will have experience working in civil construction, with a focus on large-scale residential or commercial subdivisions. These roles will involve a variety of tasks to ensure the smooth and safe completion of construction projects on time.
Key Responsibilities:Roller Operators: • Operating a roller to compact soil, gravel, asphalt, and other materials.
• Site preparation, assisting in preparing work areas before rolling begins.
• Safely operating and adjusting the roller depending on site needs.
• Identifying soft spots, weak areas, or uneven surfaces and report them for correction.
• Conduct daily pre?start checks on the roller.
Experienced Pipe Layers:
• Installation of stormwater, sewer, and water pipes
• Reading and interpreting site plans and blueprints
• Operating heavy machinery (e.g., excavators) to dig trenches for pipe laying
• Ensuring proper alignment and connections of pipes
• Inspecting and testing installed pipelines
• Ensuring that all work complies with local regulations and quality standards
Concreters & Formsetters:
• Understanding of the processes involved in concreting and formwork
• Able to undertake a number of manual handling/labouring duties
• Assisting with ground preparation including structures / formwork and use of star pickets
• Capable of following general safe practices in accordance with the Workplace Health & Safety Act
• Willing to work outdoors for extended periods of time
Other Subdivision Workers (e.g., Plant Operators, etc.):
• Operating heavy equipment such as rollers, loaders
• Assisting with road construction, kerbing, and drainage works
• Concreting, paving, and landscaping tasks as required
• Collaborating with other team members and subcontractors to ensure timely project delivery
Requirements:• Previous experience in civil construction, particularly in subdivisions (essential for Pipe Layers)
• Ability to operate machinery or willingness to be trained (e.g., for plant operators)
• Physically fit and able to perform manual labor
• Knowledge of safety standards and compliance
• Ability to read and interpret site plans (Pipe Layers)
• Relevant tickets/licensing for machinery operation (e.g., excavators, rollers)
• White Card (Construction Induction Card)
• Driver’s license and reliable transportation
• Undertake a pre employment medical (drug & alcohol, functional capacity & audio)
Desirable Skills:• Additional certifications (e.g., Confined Space, Working at Heights, Ergon Electrical Spotters ticket)
• Strong communication skills and the ability to work in a team & operate 2 way radio with clear communication
• Problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Familiarity with GPS and laser levels for pipe laying
