AO4 Program Engagement Officer (Contractor) Location: Townsville, QLD
Contract: 2 years (with possible 12-month extension)
Hours: Full-time
Achieve group is seeking a dedicated and skilled
AO4 Program Engagement Officer to join our client's Customer and Stakeholder Management (CSM) team. This role is essential to addressing both current and forecasted resource shortfalls in community engagement and communications—capabilities that are critical to the successful delivery of a range of active and upcoming capital works projects across the region.
Fully embedded within the CSM team, the successful candidate will play a key role in supporting QTRIP-funded initiatives, particularly Bruce Highway Tranches 1–7, including detailed design and preconstruction activities for the Gairloch Floodway and Halifax intersection upgrades.
This position will provide dedicated engagement capacity to ensure transparent, consistent, and strategic communications across all funded programs. The goal is to build and maintain community trust, align stakeholders, and support effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement tailored engagement strategies to inform, consult, and collaborate with stakeholders impacted by infrastructure projects.
- Manage and update project web pages and engagement platforms (e.g., Social Pinpoint).
- Draft and coordinate proactive communication materials, including media releases, newsletters, flyers, and construction notifications.
- Handle stakeholder enquiries, track correspondence, and resolve issues as they arise.
- Maintain accurate records in consultation management systems to support accountability and transparency in engagement activities.
Given the scale and regional importance of these projects, this role will help manage growing community expectations, mitigate project risks, and support sustained public confidence. The contractor will also provide surge capacity during a period where internal engagement resources are fully allocated to other major projects.
Requirements:- Relevant experience in stakeholder engagement, community consultation, communications, or a related field
- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messaging for diverse audiences
- Proficiency in digital engagement platforms (e.g., Social Pinpoint) and content creation tools
- Ability to undergo a police check as part of the onboarding process
- Experience in infrastructure, transport, or government projects (highly regarded)
