AO4 Program Engagement Officer (Contractor) Location: Townsville, QLD
Contract: 10 months

As a Program Engagement Officer you will support the delivery of the Queensland Transport and Roads Investment Program (QTRIP). The role focuses on communication, stakeholder liaison, and community engagement to assist program managers and project teams across the district. You will help ensure projects are delivered efficiently by providing clear, accurate, and timely communication to stakeholders and the broader community.
Key Responsibilities- Research and analyse information to prepare clear, accurate written material, including briefing notes and stakeholder correspondence.
- Develop and support community engagement plans for QTRIP projects, including key messages and targeted communication strategies.
- Prepare a range of communication materials such as media responses, briefings, newsletters, flyers, and other project-related content.
- Respond to media enquiries and draft media releases as required.
- Build and maintain positive working relationships with a wide range of external stakeholders.
- Ensure information and correspondence are managed accurately and confidentially in line with required standards and processes.
Requirements- Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to tailor messages for different audiences.
- Ability to build and maintain effective relationships to support collaborative outcomes.
- Confident in managing issues and providing clear, well-considered advice.
- Able to apply best-practice community engagement approaches to support meaningful consultation and positive outcomes.
- Experience preparing executive-level correspondence, including briefings and formal responses.
- Demonstrates sound judgement, integrity, and accountability in the use of information and resources
