Work within the Community Care Branches Funded Program Guidelines and service provisions.
• These could include programs under: Kolan Community Options, Isis Community Care and Gracie Dixon Centre, Neighbourhood Centre and Service Centre, Seniors Housing
• Meet deadlines and achieve defined outcomes.
• Work under limited supervision; with experience, the incumbent may be given limited freedom to plan and set outcomes.
• Follow directions of supervisory staff.
• Prioritise tasks effectively.
• Assist with volunteer/student guidance, supervision and training.
• High level computer skills – including MS Word, Excel, TRACCS, data entry and typing skill.
• Customer service, customer enquiries/complaints where necessary actively participate to assist with compliance with Commonwealth and State Government Regulations and Guidelines pertaining to services.
• It is expected that the incumbent undertake other reasonable duties and tasks requested by Management within the incumbents capabilities, including additional duties as required during periods of absence of other staff.
• Adheres to and promotes Council's Child Safe policies and practices in every aspect of the role, prioritising children and young people's safety and wellbeing through genuine engagement, risk reduction, vigilant harm identification, and immediate response to any safety concerns. Position Requirements - Qualifications and Experience: Mandatory:
• Provision of a satisfactory Criminal History Check – Police Certificate (Australia wide – name only)
• Possession of current first aid and resuscitation certificates and completion or studying towards a minimum of Certificate III in Aged Care / Community Services / Community Development / Disability work or an equivalent. Lifestyle and Leisure Certificate would be an advantage.
• Knowledge and experience with the delivery of high-quality programs with an enablement approach for Community Care service delivery with experience in planning, implementing and evaluating a varied program of activities suitable for Older People.
• Knowledge of social, emotional, intellectual and physical needs of older people and young people with disabilities along with a demonstrated ability to establish appropriate relationships with older people and young people with disabilities.
• Ability to work unsupervised under limited direction and to work on several projects and initiatives at once and within agreed timeframes
• Good interpersonal and communications skills with the ability to effectively time manage and demonstrated ability to work as a team member.
• Good computer skills – including Microsoft Word, data entry and typing skills.
