Administration Officer - Townsville - Immediate start Monday - Friday, 32 hours per week.

Role description
To deliver exceptional customer service to the Townsville community while supporting innovation, collaboration, and continuous improvement across the Infrastructure and Operations division.

You will:

  • Provide administrative support to the Property Fleet and Emergency Management team.

  • Work collaboratively with leadership and across all departments.

  • Uphold and model values, culture, and commitment to excellence.

  • Help deliver community goals.

Key Accountabilities
  • Safety Leadership: Model and promote positive safety behaviours, ensuring compliance with Workplace Health and Safety policies.

  • Customer Focus: Deliver excellent service to both internal and external customers, including government departments, leadership, and community members.

  • Administrative Excellence: Manage documentation, scheduling, reporting, correspondence, procurement, and record-keeping.

  • Collaboration: Provide cross-functional support within the Infrastructure and Operations Division.

  • Business Continuity: Support essential operations during unplanned disruptions or emergencies.

  • Quality Assurance: Ensure all documents and communications are accurate, aligned with objectives, and timely.

  • Adaptability: Be flexible to work across multiple sites and changing environments.

Key Requirements Essential:

  • Demonstrated commitment to safety culture and compliance with health and safety systems.

  • Qualifications equivalent to Certificate IV in Business or at least 3 years relevant administrative experience.

  • Current C Class driver’s licence.

  • Proven customer service and communication skills with the ability to influence and educate.

  • Strong computer literacy, especially with Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Experience with Council systems such as CiAnywhere and CES (or equivalent).

  • Ability to provide high-quality administrative and financial support to multi-disciplinary teams.

  • Strong time management, independence, and ability to prioritise tasks effectively.

  • Demonstrated adaptability and positive attitude in changing work environments.
