25 Tonne Long Reach Excavator / Rubber Duck Operator (North Of Townsville)

We are seeking an experienced and safety-focused operator to operate 25 tonne long reach excavators and rubber duck (wheeled) excavators across civil construction, infrastructure, earthworks, drainage and rehabilitation projects. The role involves precision excavation, rock breaking, trenching, drainage installation, material handling and working in challenging terrain.

Key Responsibilities
  • Safely operate 25 tonne long reach and wheeled excavators.
  • Operate attachments including rock breakers, GP, mud and trenching buckets, ripper and tilt rotator.
  • Safely use hydraulic quick hitch systems and change attachments.
  • Perform trenching, drainage, bulk earthworks, final trim, batter trimming and precision excavation.
  • Carry out rock breaking, loading, backfilling, stockpiling and material handling.
  • Operate safely on steep terrain, embankments, confined sites and road corridors.
  • Work around underground and overhead services using safe excavation practices.
  • Complete daily pre-start inspections, basic maintenance checks and report defects.
  • Maintain plant records and work collaboratively with site personnel.
  • Comply with all WHS, environmental and client requirements.
Essential Requirements
  • Proven experience operating 25 tonne long reach and rubber duck excavators.
  • Experience with hydraulic rock breakers, quick hitch systems and tilt rotators.
  • Ability to work safely on steep and uneven terrain.
  • Strong understanding of excavation safety and working around underground services.
  • White Card.
  • Current driver's license (HR desirable).
  • Relevant civil construction experience.
  • VOC or demonstrated excavator competency preferred.
Desirable
  • GPS machine control (Trimble, Topcon or Leica).
  • Final trim and detailed excavation experience.
  • Civil road and infrastructure experience.
  • Experience working around live services.
  • First Aid, Traffic Management, Confined Space and Working at Heights tickets.
