Job description

Focusing on banking and financial processing, the Finance Officer will work within in a small team, providing support to the DDF Manager along with the Diocesan Financial Administrator and Parish Community.

Ideally needs to be flexible as the first 3 months of employment will be full time onboarding transitioning into a part-time arrangement of 25 hours minimum per week.

Responsibilities:

  • Overseeing AR/AP functions
  • Oversee transactional activity and reconcile balance sheet accounts
  • Provide the DDF Manager with investment advice and strategies
  • Maintaining the asset register
  • Oversee and manage banking controls
  • Preparation of monthly cash flow statements
  • Assist in preparation of annual budgets & variance analysis reporting
  • Co-ordinate the end of year financial processes and prepare accounts for audit
  • Ensure the compliance of the companies with appropriate Australian NFP regulation and legislation

What is required:

  • Tertiary accounting qualifications
  • CA/CPA qualifications
  • Experience within a bank/financial institution – 2 years minimum

Needs to be:

  • Honest and ethical
  • Adhere to mission and values of the Catholic Church
  • Police check required
