About us

We are currently seeking an experienced Head Chef/ Sous Chef to join our clients busy Gastro Country Pub- Steakhouse in Charters Towers. 

If you've got a hands-on and positive approach to working in a busy kitchen environment - we want you!

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Assist in the day to day operations of running a quality kitchen including:
    • Cooking quality and consistent meals
    • Working well in a team environment
    • Attention to detail
    • High levels of hygiene and cleanliness
    • Manage food quality, portion control and presentation
  • Input for menu updates and specials board meals
  • Must be able to work nights and weekends
  • Ensure all our policies and procedures, health and hygiene requirements are adhered to,
  • Ordering and managing stocks,
  • The ability to work a 5-day rotating roster including weekends and evenings,
  • A willingness to work split shifts,
To be successful:
  • Experience as a Head/ Sous Chef in a busy kitchen
  • Experience cooking steaks
  • Being able to work independently and autonomously
  • A fun and engaging customer-oriented approach in addition to excellent service standards
  • Be passionate about hospitality
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills,
  • Good knowledge of policies and procedures in a workplace
