Job description

Achieve Group are seeking an Experienced Construction Business Manager for our client based in Rockhampton on a full time permanent basis. 

MAIN DUTIES / RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Manage and oversee the projects as appointed, coordinating personnel and subcontractors directly involved in the project are in phase with the project goals and objectives
  • Oversee and provide direction to general contractors, subcontractors, ensuring quality standards are met if there are any issues arising
  • Liaise with external parties including engineers, architects, and other professionals working on the projects
  • Oversee preparation of timetables with Supervisors for jobs and work in with estimating for order and variation creation
  • Proactively identify, mitigate, and track recurring project dilemmas
  • Managing the customer relationship in line with project acquisition
  • Have a comprehensive understanding of contract terms, scope of work and specifications to deliver executable plans, including full cost and project financial plans
  • Developing effective and accurate estimations (time and cost), work breakdown structures, schedules and project controls
  • The development and delivery of project execution plans
  • Managing the head contract and subcontractor scope of work and its execution to schedule, cost and quality
  • Leading a team including Contracts Administrator, Project Supervisor and oversee workforce and sub-contractors
  • Adhere to legal regulations, building and safety codes, and other requirements
  • Authorise and raise variations, progress claims and make adjustments for provisional sums in the final contract claim
  • Organise coordination and progress meetings, ensuring quality and safety is upheld
  • Conduct and document quality assurance and safety inspections throughout the project process, assuring working environment is maintained at acceptable levels, and that all tools and equipment are in good working condition
  • Oversee the maintenance and updating of SOP's and preconstruction documents, and monitor contract obligations with a goal of building relationships with all stakeholders
  • Assist with estimations, including preparing and presenting quotations/tenders
  • Proactively communicate with stakeholders of the organisation and clients
  • Ensure accurate reporting of job costing and time management
  • Effectively managing resources to ensure achievement of project schedules
  • Identify, monitor and develop high levels of compliance and quality assurance
  • Uphold company values and promote company reputation

 

SKILLS & EXPERIENCE

Qualifications

  • Trade Qualified Carpenter
  • QBCC Open Supervisors Licence
  • Current 'C' class Drivers Licence
  • Certificate IV in Project Management
EXPERIENCE
  • Extensive trade experience
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in a similar role
