Candidate of the Week

Casey Wilson

Working the Dream Job // Meet this week’s candidate of the week, Casey Wilson!

From Paralegal to current ADANI Project Administrator, Casey Wilson has certainly had her fair share of administration experience across many fields. After deciding a fresh start was just what she needed, the Townsville born and bred local traded in her books for boots and three months ago, jumped ship into the mining and rail industry.

“I was looking for a new challenge, and Don Byers at Achieve Group got me a job for ADANI” she explains. “He knew exactly what I wanted, and I have now been with ADANI since the first week of March this year”.

Casey employs her administrative expertise in the Carmichael Rail network, and her absolute passion for the company means she constantly goes above and beyond to deliver the best quality service. Whether it is organising inductions or completing paperwork, there is no task that is too big or small for Casey.

“I love the job!” she exclaims. “I am extremely happy, and I know it sounds weird, but I do overtime every single day because I am genuinely wanting to do more for the company”.

While Casey acknowledges that she loves everything about her new position, she admits that it is the diverse range of incredible people she has the opportunity to work with that truly makes the job special.

“I work with amazing people,” she says.

“I also love my job because it is something I've never done before and it is quite unique. Since I work for rail, I am literally part of the process of building a railway. It is extremely exciting to think about”.

Despite the mining industry experiencing a rise during the COVID-19 outbreak, Casey notes how, if possible, many employees have been working remotely. While Casey is one of the few who have remained at the office, she is enjoying being able to extend her expertise to other areas of the company and assist those who need an extra helping hand during these challenging times.

“Most people are currently working from home due to COVID-19, and since I have still been in the office, I have had the opportunity to help others in different parts of the company” she explains.

“It has been wonderful to see how things work in other areas of the company, and it has been a great learning experience”.

While Casey has not used other recruitment agencies to source employment opportunities, she has no problem in detailing what makes Achieve Group’s services unique compared to other recruitment agencies on the market.

“What makes it unique for me is that it is so personal, and everything is just so easy because they know exactly what they are doing” she continues.

“It is because they are not a humongous team that they are extremely organised and every single person who works there knows what’s going on”.

“I can ring up anytime and know we are in this together. There is nothing that can beat that”.
